Sending the 350 Message

350 parts per million co2 in the atmosphere

On the evening of 24 October, 2009 RGCCAG had a magical lantern lighting evening of hope for the climate in Putney Park, as part of the world wide day of action on climate.  Scientists say that 350 parts per million CO2 in the atmosphere is the safe limit for humanity.  Find out more at www.350.org.

We were serenaded by the wondrous Swing Mamas, with over 100 people attending. Children & adults were all involved in making & decorating the 350 lanterns with paint & crayons and then laying out the lanterns to form a huge 350 sign on the grass. We all had such a moving & inspiring evening we are thinking about doing it all over again on Earth Hour night – so watch this space!

Here are just a few of many beautiful photos taken on that magical twilight.
